Short and Easy Hiking in Nara (Wakakusa-Mountain)

2.5-3 hours

On this tour, you can experience a mountain climbing/ hiking with an experienced and English-spoken local guide. The beloved mountain by local people, Wakakusa mountain, is about 350m high, 30-40 minutes’ walk from the bottom of it. Depending on your physical level, there are several routes to take. Around the mountain, wild or tamed deer inhabit, and from the observation place on the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a beautiful scenery. In addition, after the tour, you can visit famous Nara park, the giant Buddha statue, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine, which are ones of the most beautiful tourist spots in Nara by yourself or yourselves.

We use a local bus.  220 yen for adult, 110 yen for child is needed.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

Itinerary

○Morning Tour

[1]At 10:00 a.m. Meet at JR Nara station or Kintetsu Nara Station

[2]Take a local bus to the bottom of the mountain (30-40 minutes)

[3]Start to hike the mountain (30-40 minutes)

[4]Come down to the bottom and end the tour. The tour ends at the bottom of the mountain.

Tour ends around 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

 

○Afternoon Tour

[1]At 1:00 p.m. Meet at JR Nara station or Kintetsu Nara Station

[2]Take a local bus to the bottom of the mountain (30-40 minutes)

[3]Start to hike the mountain (30-40 minutes)

[4]Come down to the bottom and end the tour. The tour ends at the bottom of the mountain.

Tour ends around 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Your walking tour of Japan’s oldest city, begins by meeting your guide at a designated spot near station. You’ll experience to get on local bus as the locals do, and then continue to spend a day as Japanese do. You’ll have no worries about navigation, as your guide will lead you to have ideal time for you. You’ll learn about a history of the city and how Japanese think about their culture. At the top of the mountain, you’ll appreciate a beauty of Japanese co-existed nature, old buildings, and modern constructions before the tour concludes.
